Safety Tips

This page is an educational resource designed to help creators plan safer, more ethical collaborations. There will always be some risk, but these practices can help reduce it.

✅ Before the Shoot

  • Have a clear conversation about what’s happening:
    • Will there be nudity? Will there be sexual contact? If so, what kinds?
    • If there will be any kinks or BDSM, what are they? What are the risks?
    • Who will be present? How much experience do they have?
    • What are people's limits and boundaries? What are their safewords?
    • How will people communicate if they aren't having a good time and need something different?
  • It's encouraged to vet potential collaborators:
    • Ask others for references.
    • Discuss past experiences and expectations.
  • Review and sign any contracts before filming.

✅ At the Shoot

  • Bring a safety companion or set up a safety contact (a friend who knows where you are).
  • Show up on time, clean, and sober.
  • Bring your valid, government-issued ID and make sure all IDs are photographed, and all contracts signed, before shooting.
  • Exchange recent STI test results when applicable.
  • You can say no at any time — even during the shoot.

✅ We like the FRIES Consent Model. Consent Is:

  • Freely Given: No pressure.
  • Reversible: You can change your mind.
  • Informed: Know what you're agreeing to.
  • Enthusiastic: You feel good about it.
  • Specific: Consent to one act doesn’t mean consent to others.

✅ Contract Considerations

  • Signing a contract gives others the legal right to use the content.
  • These contracts are permanent unless otherwise negotiated.
  • Once signed, you can’t force others to take content down.
  • You may request takedowns, but collaborators are not legally obligated to comply.

Collab Campfire is committed to supporting ethical, consent-based collaborations. These guidelines are a starting point, not a substitute for clear communication, self-awareness, and mutual respect.
